The interwebs are abuzz with news of presidential aspirant Musalia Mudavadi's daughter Maryanne.

This is after she introduced her dad at the Bomas Of Kenya event where Musalia is launching his presidential bid on January 23, 2022.

Maryanne started her speech by saying, "Good morning dad, the next president of Kenya!"

Maryanne continued, "We are gathered here for a very momentous occasion, however before I introduce my father, I would like to say a few things about him..."

She went ahead to give his bio on how he started his career and got to where he currently is, running for the top office in the court.

"We can see he is a very strong, trite and very experienced figure in politics. My dad is a champion for change for all Kenyans regardless of their age, gender ethnicity and class," she said.

"He is an inspiration for both the young and old leaders and a role model to many, considering all the sacrifices my dad has made for this country due to his extremely selfless nature kind heart and integrity I stand here very proud to say this is my dad," Maryanne said introducing the ANC party leader.

In a past interview with the Star, Mudavadi said, “Though as parents we play different roles in our children’s lives, my wife has always been the disciplinarian."

His wife is Tessie Shangatti Mudavadi.

The former vice president admitted that pressure from his political work sometimes occupies his mind long after he leaves office.

“It is not easy to juggle between politics and family. If you are not careful, politics just ends up taking more of your time unintentionally,” he said.

Joking that how none of his children takes after him, Mudavadi said he would support them if they got into politics.

Though his children take an interest in his political career, he said, as a father he would never push them to enter politics unless they really want to take the plunge.

“If they have their own interests then I would like them to make the decisions they believe in. I would support them if they were to go into politics but if they pick a different career path, they have my full backing as well,” he said.

For the presidential hopeful, nothing defines a perfect family time as much as sitting together with his wife and three children, telling stories and laughing.
