Deputy President William Ruto turns 55 years old today.

His daughter June Ruto wished him a happy birthday with a moving post that read: "Today you have added another candle of knowledge and wisdom to your life, dad."

Adding, "May it give you the power to enlighten the whole world. On your birthday I wish you joy and happiness."

Ruto's son, Nick also penned a heartwarming post.

"Happy birthday my mentor, my loving father! Today I am feeling so honoured and humbled to celebrate the birthday of my sagacious father. There is no dad supportive, caring and kinder than you."

He continued, "I haven't got enough opportunities to tell you that you are the classiest and the most humble man I have ever seen.

You have led me to the right path and in the direction of positivity till yet. May you continue to do so. I'm utterly blessed to have a father like you."

Ruto is currently in Mombasa and he was surprised by the hotel staff of English Point Marina who sang him a happy birthday son.
