Questions have emerged after Media Personality Mwanaisha Chidzuga and her brother Hassan Chidzuga announced that they will contest for a parliamentary seat in 2022.
In separate press conferences, the duo announced that they will be contesting for the Matuga Constituency seat.
This is the position that their late mum, Zainab Chidzuga wanted to contest in the upcoming elections.
On her part, Mwanaisha said that she has been endorsed by elders in the region and also her family members.
"I would like to thank elders for giving me this big task to fill the gap that was left by mum, to contest for the Matuga Constituency seat," Mwanaisha said.
On the other hand, her brother said that they have not held any discussions as a family.
Hassan said they have not talked at a family level since their mother died last month.
"I am sure she will come, and we will talk as a family. Everyone is saying what they want, we are not competing nor fighting. It's just that she has declared, and also as her elder brother, I have also declared," Hassan said
Today, they mark 40 days since the death of their mother, and they will be holding a family meeting.
"From tomorrow henceforth, we will seat down and talk," he said.
According to Hassan, he was close to his mum and they had started making political plans together.
"We had planned how we will go round campaigning. We were working on many projects together. She was working on women projects, and I am aiming at addressing youth challenges. I would like to continue with projects that she left and those that she intended to do."
