Yesterday, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga lit the internet after lauding Mejja for the Tabia za Wakenya song.

In a tweet, the ODM leader said that the message in Mejja's 'Kanairo' song is a true reflection of the behavior of many Kenyans.

"Mejja’s Tabia za Wakenya hit was playing somewhere this morning and it got me thinking it is true!: Masaa na mkenya lazima atachelewa lakini sherehe?"Oh! Please. This is not you behind the computer...clearly, there is a youthful guy managing the account. The account manager is doing a good job though.""Oh! Please. This is not you behind the computer...clearly, there is a youthful guy managing the account. The account manager is doing a good job though."

Our Musicians are really creative. Wonderful week ahead fellow countrymen!" he wrote.

Many were surprised that Raila Odinga is also listening to Gengetone music.

It was an impressive thing for Raila to show support for local talent, and it also made him appear like a cool guy.

However, some Kenyans felt like Raila Odinga is only praising Mejja so as to impress the youth, and in turn win their hearts in the oncoming General Election.

Here are some of the reactions from Kenyans;

@ Real Hustler- "Wacha uongo buana! Tangu lini ukawa mgenge! Maliza na hio handcheque uishie Bondo ukachunge ngombe zako!"

@ Ziro Junior- "Enyewe umekua mhumble adi umeanza kurecognise Kenyan talents."

@ Imbugwa - "Clearly there is a general election around the corner."

@ Eddie - "The old man doesn't listen to Reggae anymore? Now he is a fan of Gengetone?"

@ Caleb- "Muziki achia wasanii, wewe ambia wakenya wakupee kazi."

@ Brian - "Oh! Please. This is not you behind the computer...clearly, there is a youthful guy managing the account. The account manager is doing a good job though."
