Former Central Imenti MP Gideon Mwiti was a changed man as he had given his life to God three months before his demise, Imenti Central MP Moses Kirima has said.

Kirima said that people should console the family instead of attacking the late on social media.

“He was a changed man he used to call and preach to people whenever he got a chance to address a gathering so those who had a picture in mind of the old Mwiti should know he had reformed,” Kirima said.

He said the Mp will be buried at his home in Central Imenti constituency on Tuesday next week.

The humourous MP clinched the seat in 2013 on an APK ticket after trouncing Gitobu Imanyara and Kirima and other candidates in a closely contested race. He served for one term.

He was known in his constituency as a generous leader who often came to help needy children where he offered several scholarships and bursaries.

The flamboyant MP was also known to dish out money and residents would mill around his vehicle whenever he was spotted as they knew they would go home with cash.

He was however associated with a lot of controversies. He had been associated with a Pyramid scheme that went down with millions belonging to innocent Kenyans.

He was however acquitted by a Nairobi magistrate court in 2013.

He also had a pending court case when he had been accused of rape.
