After a successful transition from Gospel to Secular music, musician Bahati could be venturing into politics soon.

On Sunday, Bahati accompanied DP William Ruto's UDA team to Huruma for a church service.

On the occasion, Bahati heaped praises on Ruto and assured him that he will be the fifth President of Kenya.

"When I heard the Deputy President was here, I came to accompany him and show him around. You give us so much hope, there are so many hustlers in Mathare .

When I see someone like you, who rose from selling chicken and now is a Deputy President and we are waiting to swear him as President in 2022, it gives us hope," Bahati said.

Mtoto wa Mama told Mathare residents that they are special to him, and he is indebted to them

"I was born here, in Mathare, I have studied in these schools, Huruma Primary. And for the milestones I have made, I thank the people of Mathare for holding my hand. I was orphaned while still young and I used to eat in everyone's house. I know am indebted to many of you," he said.

After his address, Embakasi Central MP hinted that Bahati had shared his political ambitions with him.

"Bahati has let me down because he told me there is something he will say but he hasn't said. When the time comes he will say it," MP Benjamin Gathiru said.

Before the church service, Bahati had toured Kiambaa Constituency to campaign for UDA candidate.
