Musician Reuben Kigame's plan to make public his 2022 Presidential bid was cut short by police officers on Wednesday morning.
The gospel artist took to his social media page to his disappointment, vowing to find a way to make it happen today.
"The physical gathering for my presidential bid launch has been canceled. The police have informed us that there should be no physical gatherings today. What a mockery of freedom launched on this day 31 years ago! Stay put for the next communication. It will still happen today," Reuben Kigame wrote.
The 'Enda Nasi' singer made public his intentions to contest for the top seat in April, saying that the tough times that the country is undergoing has prompted him to make the tough decision.
"Kenya is in a bad place and if we do not courageously challenge the rot we are in at the moment, we will have ourselves to blame and future generations will not forgive us for letting them down," he announced.
