The crowd that received Harmonize in Eldoret this past weekend was one that even our egotistical politicians would envy.
He was met like a war-hero with his car mobbed by a crowd of adoring fans. But what they didn’t know was that the much-awaited show that he was to perform at would n’t take place.
The reasons are sketchy at the moment with the singer and the promoter both blaming each other. According to a report by Ghafla say that police have arrested the CEO of Shado Event Initiative which was behind Hamonize’s failed tour in Eldoret during the weekend.
The CEO is called Douglas Obobe Maini. Eldoret South Police boss Wilson Abduba, confirmed the incident and saying:
We had ‘Chaget festival‘ on Saturday which was to run from 6pm-6am and things were smooth until 2 am when more than 5, 000 fans attending the event started demanding for Harmonize to perform. Reports we have indicated that there was disagreement on payment.
This resulted in damages at the venue with reports saying that even chairs at the venue were stolen. The police boss continued:
We have arrested the organizer and owner of Shado Events Douglas Obobe Maini who is assisting us in carrying out the investigations. My officers dispelled the angry crowds who destroyed tents, plastic chairs and later on, blocked the Eldoret-Kapsabet road as they burnt tyres.
Harmonize apologized on his Instagram page saying and we have truncated part of the message:
NEXT TIME NITAHAKIKISHA TUMELIPWA DOO YOTE KABLA NI COME TRUST ME I’M SO….!!! DISAPPOINTED AND I LOVE YOU ❤ AND I WAS EXTRA READY 👹👹 I DID #SOUNDCHECK AND EVERYTHING THIS IS TO BAD ….!!!! 👹
we have been trying to contact the promoter of the event who had promised to share with us his side of the story but it was all to no avail.
