It is barely 3 days after Kenya's richest footballer, Victor Wanyama, was honoured by the Tanzanian government as they named a street after him.

With great excitement, Wanyama took to social media to express how he felt further appreciating them for honouring him in a special way.

Asante Tanzania.”Wanyama wrote

Today, many woke up to the news that the street post had been pulled down. What a shocker!

According to Amani Sizya, the representative of Ubungo NHC, the street where Wanyama had been named after, the protocol to naming the street after him was not followed, thus bringing the post down.

Amani said as quoted by Mseto ea

The move seems to have elicited mixed reactions from football fans, but it is not clear if the post will be put back or not.
