The past weekend saw the biggest concert of the month take place at Carnivore, here in Nairobi. Dubbed United Sounds of Africa, the African music themed event was laced with performances by some of the biggest acts in Africa.

From Kenya’s very own, Dela to Tanzanian star Lady Jaydee to Nigerian crooner Runtown, Africa’s finest artists delivered epic performances.

Runtown performed some of his biggest hits, including “Mad Over You”, “Walahi” and “Lagos To Kampala”.

Khaligraph Jones did not disappoint. His fire lyrics and stage antics had fans going gaga. The rapper, who is known for showering his fans with his own jewelry, glasses and branded outfits had the revelers hyped and craving for more when he threw his hoodie into the crowd.

Kagwe Mungai had the ladies screaming at the top of their lungs as the hosts, Shaffie and Jalang’o hyped the crowd with interluded of DJ mixes.

DJ Hypnotic was on the ones and twos and his magical touch made the event livelier. To me, it was the best concert this year, given that the fans had a good time. There were no complaints about the concert at all. The security was beefed up, the sitting positions were well organized and the artists really interacted with their fans.

Other artists who took to the stage were Prezzo, H_art The Band, Alicios Theluji, Urban Hype and Navy Kenzo. Speaking of Navy Kenzo, this was their first main concert and they did it justice. The “Kamatia” stars had fans come to the stage and do some whining.

Some of the sponsors of the event included Remy Martin, Kiss 100 FM, Rwandair, B-Club, Taxify, Songa, Keringet, Safaricom and Classic 105.
