Kenneth Mutuma was shot by cops, left for dead. A good samaritan managed to take him to hospital where the cops, again followed him and handcuffed him to his bed.

Photos of Kenneth known to his friends and family as Tush in hospital have elicited strong reactions from Kenyans. This is mostly because, his pals are accusing the police of shooting Tush and allegedly recording tramped up charges on his to cover up their mistake.

Kenneth Mutuma is an actor in the Real Househelps of Kawangware and at the time of the shooting, he was from a job at Royal Media where he was translating some programmes to Kimeru.

Wyclef Muthomi, a fellow creative has been on the fore front of ensuring that Tush's story is told.

"Last week after working at Royal media he boarded a matatu to town. Unbeknown to him police were pursuing the Matatu with claims that it had thieves. The police opened fire and began shooting indiscriminately. Tush was shot on the leg and left on the road to bleed out. As is common with Nairobians nobody offered to help him and as he struggled to drag himself a boda boda guy passing saw he was bleeding out and took him to Nazareth health facility where First aid was administered and then transferred to Kenyatta National hospital.

Wyclef continued, "He was taken to surgery where after the first operation his leg was found to be unresponsive and sadly yesterday it was amputated just below the knee. The police who shot him are keeping guard at the hospital one in the morning the other in the evening. They claim Tush is an armed Robber and have heaped 7 counts against him including robbery with violence. Tush is not from a rich or influential family, just like many people languishing in jail because of careless police and a system that barely works, shoddy investigation might be done and the rest will be history."

"It is really painful that after his surgery, he can barely move, we feed him and move him if he need to e moved but the cops came on Wednesday night and handcuffed him to is bed. They are doing this because the story went viral on social media and he had many visitors since then," Faith Nkatha, his cousin told The Star's Word Is column.

Faith added, "So far Tush has not being caught with any stolen items in his person. He had dreams but now they are shuttered. As a family we need the help of everyone to ensure that Tush gets justice."

Wyclef adds that Tush has been discharged from hospital and appeared before the magistrate at Thika Law courts.

"He was charged with five counts of robbery with violence and released on a bond of 100K," Wyclef updated fans on Facebook.
