Night of terror! How KBC video editor was shot dead in her house in Ololua

Here are tributes sent in by Betty’s pals and colleagues.

Edward Muchiri: Sad morning losing my fellow media personality, R.I.P Betty Barasa KBC TV Senior Video Editor. Betty was shot dead by thugs at her home in Ngong

Silas Kiragu: Sad Morning for the KBC fraternity. Betty Barasa RIP. I got to know this beautiful soul when we taught together at Kenya Institute of Mass Communication. Didn’t know that yesterday mid-morning would be the day to say the last Hi and Goodbye at the KBC reception. πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯…Till we meet again

Irene Kasivu: A student who turned out to be a colleague and great friend. You walked with me in serious and light moments. I’ll always treasure our friendship, will always remember you for taking me to my shags for a thanksgiving ceremony a month before my dad passed on. I’m hurt. Life is so fast. Rest in power my kid sister Betty Barasa

John Jacob Kioria:

Betty Barasa : Kioria, are you still doing your morning runs?
Me: Not really, I have slowed down a bit.
Betty: You should resume, run even if you do twice a week it will help you. That’s what am doing and am feeling okay.

Now this beautiful woman here, was a wife and a mother. Snatched from her loved ones by gun trotting thugs, stupid vampires who have no value for life. Inside her house.

There’s something wrong with this society. Even if you make a living through stealing, is it really worth it to take a life? The sanctity of life can never be gainsaid.

To the doers of this heinous act, Betty was at work today. You may never know what she meant to some of us. She was a big sister, a friend, a dependable colleague, enjoyable company and a hard worker.

Life is just useless, meaningless by far. If I tell you the levels this woman has gone to further her education, to build herself a stable family, then you would know the amount of pain these thugs have inflicted tonight.

This hits hard. Hurtful, painful, excruciating pain. The cloud of darkness that hovers over KBC and the newsroom particularly where Betty worked as a Senior video editor is just unfathomable.

To your killers, Betty, may they never know peace. Those bloodthirsty vampires will die a painful, full of regret type of death. And hey girl, torment them to their graves.

I will miss your dearly Betty. So so much 😭😭😭😭😭.
