Police have reported a grisly road accident in Kiambu County, Lari Subcounty.

According to a filed police report, the November 27 fatal accident occurred at 9:30am along Nairobi- Naivasha Road At Magina Area Involving Motor Vehicle Reg Number Kcf 865v, Isuzu Frr, Driven By One Kinyanjui Karugu And Motor Vehicle Reg Number Kcl 112v, Toyota Hiace Van, C/o Department Of Defence Headquarters, Driven By No. 88954 Cpl David Obuya.

The police report reads,

"It Happened That The Motor Vehicle Reg Number Kck 112v Was Being Driven From Naivasha Towards Nairobi General Direction With Six (6) Passengers On Board And Upon Reaching At The Location Of The Accident The Driver Started Overtaking Without Due Care And Collided With The Oncoming Motor Vehicles Reg Number Kcf 865v Whose Driver Had Tried To Swerve To The Left Side As You Face Naivasha Direction To Avoid Head-on Collision But Unfortunately The Toyota Van Hit The Right Body Angle Line And Rear Tyres Plucking Them Off. As The Result Of The Accident Nobody Was Injured In The Lorry."

However the report details various injuries and a death in the other vehicle.

(1). No. 21673 Cpl Jackline Wachira, Complains Of Pain On The Neck And The Right Leg.

(2). No. 94263 Sgt John Oluoch, Pain On The Right Leg And Hand.

(3). No. 96239 Sgt Borris Munyui, Pain On The Left Hand And Right Leg.

(4) No. 94262 Sgt Sarah Mwende, Pain On The Left Hand And Both Legs.

(5) No. 94258 Sgt Juvenile Onane, Fractured Right Leg And Internal Breeding.

(6). No. 88954 Cpl David Obuya, Pain On The Right Leg.

(7) No. 94201 Sgt Brian Lindode Was Seriously Injured And Died On Arrival At Kijabe Mission Hospital.

The report concludes,

"All The Injured Were Rushed To Kijabe Mission Hospital Where They Were Treated In Stable Condition And Later Transferred To Forces Memorial Hospital And The Body Removed To The Same Hospital Mortuary Awaiting Postmortem. Both Vehicles Were Towed To Lari Police Station Yard Awaiting Inspection."
