Doctors have successfully remove bullet lodged in shoulder of two-and-half-year-old baby who was shot during anti-IEBC demos in Kisumu yesterday.

The girl, Mary Shantel is the second born in a family of two; her elder brother is four years.

The mum, Lydia Khageya who lost her husband three months ago said her daughter was shot while in their compound in Nyamasaria.

She says the baby was playing with other three children when they saw the child fall on the ground.

“We ran towards her because we were around and thought she was hit by a stone but on looking closely we saw something on her shoulder and rushed her to the hospital at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Refferal hospital,” She said.

She added that at the hospital after an x-ray was done,  they realized it was a bullet.

"Some of us had to storm the theater when we got worried with the long hours, said their grand mother Rose Akinyi.'

She added;

"There were no protests going on in our compound and I wondered why the bullet hit our daughter,” she said.

Mary, is pain and the family doesn't have funds to acquire medicine that was prescribed, calling upon well-wishers to help them through.
