Three people including blood brothers traveling from John De Mathew’s burial died after a nasty accident at Gakunyu in Gatanga, Murang’a county.
The two brothers died on the spot after a pick up collided head-on with a saloon car, leaving five injured.
They were rushed to Thika Level 5 hospital for treatment.
De Mathew succumbed to injuries after a grisly accident near Blue Post Hotel in Thika last week.
The renowned Kikuyu Benga artiste was not just an ordinary person but a family man, who insisted on binding his family with love. His two wives revealed that.
John De Mathew’s first wife’s read an emotional tribute to him, showering him with praises.
YOU TRULY WERE A WONDERFUL AND KIND MAN.
YOU WERE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, THE ONE WHO DD EVERYTHING HUMANLY POSSIBLE TO PROTECT US ME AND OUR CHILDREN. YOU WERE A MAN OF THE PEOPLE AND A HERO TO ALL WHO KNEW YOU. AMAN WHO LOVED UNCONDITIONALLY AND GAVE GENEROUSLY.
YOU WERE A FAMILY MAN AND UNDERSTOOD THE TRUE MEANING OF MARRIAGE. YOUR LIFE HAS TAUGHT ME UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND YOUR DEATH HAS TAUGHT ME KINDNESS AND MEANING OF TRUE FRIENDSHIP.
I’M GRATEFUL TO GOD THAT I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE YOUR DREAMS, HOPE, LAUGHTER, FRIENDSHIP AND MUCH MUCH MORE. YOU’LL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART AND THE LOVE I HAVE FOR YOU WILL NEVER DIE. THE CHILDREN AND I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER AND PRAY FOR YOU.
His second wife Caroline Waithera’s tribute read,
You gifted me with so many gifts, the most precious of them being our children. Thank you for allowing the world to call me a mother.
