One Kenyan lady posted on one her social media page that she cannot vote for Nyashinski as best African act at the MTV Emma 2017.

And funny enough she was supported by other Kenyans as well.

Where is our patriotism and pride in our own?

It is so sad that Kenyans don't always support their own musicians or just anyone who needs them to. For instance the last season of Big Brother Africa, Sabina Anyango Stedler stayed in the house for just two weeks. She needed support from Kenyans but she didn't get it, if Kenyans would have voted for her she would have lasted in that house or even won.

When it comes to music rarely do Kenyans support local musicians by listening to their music or buying their music. Most Kenyans listen to Nigerians songs or bongo from Tanzania.

When it comes to supporting artists Nigerians and Tanzania's are always on the fore front, they are always vouching for their music in all ways. That is why they have succeeded in the music industry.

Lets come back to Kenyans voting for Nyashinski. There is no drop of patriotism in their blood at all because this is what some of them had to say after she put up her post;

But there seems to be life where supporting our own is concerned because some said they support Nyashinski;

Audrey Zawadi: You see thing is, when a time comes and you want to make it as a great violinist or whatever you wanna be, you'll seek support from your own coz trust me Nasty C and Wizkid will be nowhere to support you.. But at the end of the day, it's still your choice. But support Your own!!!!
