Gospel artiste-cum pastor Ruth Matete is a strong woman. Ruth, who got married in November 2019 to her Nigerian husband pastor John Apewajoye never enjoyed the marriage.

Pastor John succumbed to injuries on April 11 after a gas cylinder accident at their Athi River home.

She was criticised all over social media after her hubby's death and all sorts of insults were hurled at her.

This saw Ruth deactivate all her social media accounts and go MIA. Her husband's death was shrouded in controversy and he was later buried on July 23.

Well, Ruth has revealed that most of the people she called friends including pastors deserted her. In a lengthy post, she narrated how some pastors used her situation to mock her.

'Can we talk? I know this will land me in trouble with the Religious people but hey! So now, some of you have some weird audacity. You have never liked me from the word go and that's alright. When I was going through hell and high waters and scandal was my name, you turned and kept your distance. You only wanna associate with me when am the star and being celebrated. Infact some of them came up with prophecies during their live broadcasts saying that God showed them I'll go to jail and that I was guilty,' she wrote in part.

Matete went ahead to advise Christians to live according to the word and stop preaching water and drinking wine.

I'll let you see what God can do. Can you imagine how it would have turned out if Joseph had refused to help his brothers who had earlier on betrayed him? We need enemies to succeed.
