Phy Ng'etich was recently featured among the Most Promising Women in Kenya by Mpasho News. As noted in the feature, she would be graduating from Sauti Academy and it happened last Saturday evening.

I was at the Sauti Academy Graduation Concert at The Alliance Francaise Auditorium and the performances were off the hook!

The event was packed to capacity with attendance from local celebrities like H_art The Band, Ian Mbugua and King Kaka Sungura. Her performance came second last and she literally killed the show; she has got unique moves and a taste for hip hop perfectly infused with her soulful style. She's got a lovely voice and it is not a surprise that she won the Maisha Superstar music competition and took home 1.2 million shillings.

Joining her on stage was top Kenyan rapper and Coke Studio Season 2 participant King Kaka for a "Ligi Soo" performance. This was the highlight of the show as their performance got everyone on their feet! Rabbit happens to be the young girl's mentor.

One of the graduates, singer Swiga, said that studying at the academy has been an amazing experience. This was after she gave the audience goosebumps with an electrifying live band performance.

"I have come a long way from when I began. I have learnt too much from Sauti Academy family. But I'd say the biggest lesson would be that hard work and self-belief and a good work ethic goes a long way. Building relationships with people is also quite important," Swiga said. She says that she's now ready to take on the Kenyan musical landscape.

Sauti Academy is home to BET Award nominee band Sauti Sol and H_art The Band. The other graduates were Carol, Lexxy, Becky, Ray and Zeshari.
