Having a Kenyan in the La Liga is no mean feat. This is the best league in the world with the current European champs Real Madrid being the current holders of the La Liga trophy. So to have a Kenyan involved in it is something to shout and scream about.

Michael Olunga plays for the Girona in the La Liga and while it may not have the same clout as that of Barcelona, he still is in the  La Liga. Yesterday evening Girona faced Barcelona at the Estadi Municipal de Montilivi. The match was a lively affair although the Catalans were still the eventual winners with a 3-0 score.

But what about Olunga? Alifanya vizuri? Yes, he played extremely well. In the 13th minute, Ter Stegen had to pull a brilliant save to deny Olunga after the former Kogalo striker pounced on a rebound. In the 40th minute he also had an opportunity to score when he outjumped Barcelona defender Umtiti but only for his header to go over the post.

His last opportunity for remembrance came before he was subbed when he directed a header straight at Ter Stegen in the 55th minute. Summary: Although he may not have scored in this game his pace, height and strength were on clear display to the masses. More is coming from this lad!
