Governor Okoth Obado released on bail just days after Sharon Otieno's funeral

Migori Governor Okoth Obado has been freed on 5 million cash bail and other tough conditions.

Justice Lesiit said that Obado shall: not push for any adjournments, is not supposed to go close to Homabay county and should not go 20km away from the boundaries of Migori county and have no contact with witnesses, no contact with Sharon's family.

Obado, who was among the suspects in the death of Rongo University Sharon Otieno, denied killing Sharon and has been in custody for more than a month.

The Migori county boss was granted bail today by Justice Jessie Lesiit, who also ruled that the court is at liberty to cancel the bail should the governor go against the conditions she has set.

Obado's co-accused personal assistants Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero who are also accused of being involved in the murder of Sharon were denied bail.

The murder trial has been slated for May 6 2019. The late Sharon was buried last week on Friday.
