A 25-year-old man was Saturday morning found murdered in Busangi village in Esoit area in Kimindet ward in Trans Mara West sub-county as another man was found lying in a pool of blood in the same village Saturday morning.

Speaking to the press Saturday Transmara West Sub-county Police Commander Mr. James Kilonzo said a man by the name Mr. Robert Okari while in his house at around 11:30pm heard commotion outside on a road that passes near his house and went to check.

Kilonzo said Okari lit a torch and found a man who is only known in the area as Wapi Wapi lying in a pool of blood, as his attacker fled into the darkness after he saw Okari approaching.

The man had already died from excessive bleeding as Mr. Okari discovered when he arrived on the scene. He had deep knife cuts in the chest and abdomen.

The body of the deceased person has been moved to St. Joseph Mission Hospital Mortuary in Kilgoris town pending postmortem and further investigations into the incident.

As Okari walked a few metres further on the same road to seek help, he came across one Micah Rop lying in a pool of blood and writhing in pain with deep knife cuts in his face near the left eye. He has been moved to Kilgoris Sub-County Hospital where he is fighting for his life.

The entire Trans Mara area has been known to be beleaguered by incidences of insecurity where cases of homicide and inter-clan and inter- ethnic clashes has been expressed in the past.

Mr. Kilonzo has indicated that the underlying issue in many of these incidences are related to land disputes in the area.

Earlier this week, tension was high in Nkararo area in Transmara West which is known to have a land boundary dispute between two Maasai clans living in the area. But easy calm has returned after security was beefed up in the area.
