Dennis Okari had a nasty period after his separation from the mother of his one kid, Betty Kyallo. The two barely lived together as man and wife with the marriage dissolving after 6 months.
Okari had even contemplated committing suicide on two different occasions. With that backdrop, one can understand that the failure of his marriage to Betty left a painful and indelible mark on him.
Betty for her part seemed to have moved on swimmingly after the break-up with nary a comment about depression or suffering from her.
It leads me to the question at hand, who of the two seems to be having a better life at the moment? I have divided the answer into 4 categories in order to answer this very important question. They are below:
Since his divorce, Dennis is rarely mentioned in a negative light, keeping a low profile on social media. That is one of the reasons he was able to keep his current wife and marriage date so secret.
Betty meanwhile, is always in the news, for wonderful things and for negative things. Last year, a story ran on a tabloid that claimed a politician she had been dating had called her money hungry.
Betty, sadly, is a creature of the limelight and this often leads to her being in the crosshairs of haters and trolls alike.
Verdict: Okari wins.
Both are excelling in this arena, with Betty starting a new job at K24 as a weekend news anchor late last year.
Okari meanwhile has been a stalwart at NTV and proven his credentials in an industry that was hit by mass defections last year. Okari is the investigative and security editor at NTV as well as a senior anchor.
This one is a tie, as they are both doing well.
This last one will be controversial. There is the parlance, “revenge body” that is used to describe the body of an ex after a bitter separation occurs.
Normally, the ex puts such work into their body (most times to spite the person they split from) that they look better than they ever were in their past relationship.
I would argue just from photographs available that Dennis seems to have maintained a good frame while Betty does not look as good as she did in her youth.
Yep, the old phrase, “men age like wine and women age like milk” comes to mind.
Their love lives
This is the most important criteria I believe. The ease with which one is able to successfully move on to someone else after a bad break-up.
Dennis has kept his personal life under wraps since his divorce from Betty. This past weekend, he signalled that he had finally moved on, by marrying Naomi Joy.
Meanwhile, Betty has had a messy relationship with a politician that was shortlived. This week she released images showing that she has a new man. Will this one be her knight in shining armour? I have my doubts.
Verdict: Okari wins.
At the end of the day, I think that Okari is doing much better at this stage of his life than Betty. Yes, and that is my opinion!
