Police officer beaten by his boss like a burukenge

A police officer attached to Chuka police station is nursing injuries on his knee after allegedly being beaten by his boss.

Samuel Ndungu a constable said that on Saturday night he had gone to tell his boss that the sniffer dog that he used for routine patrol could not make it that day as it was sick.

“I was shocked when he shouted at me and told me it was none of his business. I was moving downstairs at the station when my boss kicked my legs I fell down and injured my leg. He grabbed my coallar and kicked my knee hard,” he said.

He spoke to press on Tuesday

He said the police boss might have been drunk as he was very violent.

He said after sobbing with the pain he was taken to Chuka County Referal hospital by his colleagues.

“Tests at the hospital revealed that I had fractured knee and my leg was dislocated,” he said showing journalists the medical reports.

Chuka Sub-county police boss Joseph Kavoo said the officer had tried to escape arrest after absconding duty while Tharaka Nithi County police boss Charles Mbantu said he dint have any information on the unfortunate incident involving the officer, he, however, promised to follow up on the matter.
