Before Pombe Magufuli was elected President of the Republic of Tanzania, he was nothing but a mere Minister of Works. But when he was elected as the President in October 2015, he has gone to every length to show his gusto and mettle that he is a leader who can be relied on by the over 49 million Tanzanian people.

Now, the no-nonsense Pombe has just scored yet another feather in his cap. This is so big that it has given Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero a scare. He, Kidero, was the guy behind this brilliant idea, but unfortunately, our Kenyan politics always makes us shot ourselves in the foot. Every day, politics leads us into committing economic "suicide". We can't just do anything constructive. We are like lame ducks.

Pombe has helped Kidero execute his own ideas, but this time in his capital city, Dar es Salaam. Pombe just launched the Dar es Salam Bus Rapid Transit (Dart). They have the same colour as the magic pill, Viagra, but the project is awesome! Commuters will have to get electronic cards to enjoy their service as from tomorrow. The blue buses will operate 19 hours a day, from 5am. They have their own lanes.

Quoting one Idris Situma:

"What on this earth is stopping Nairobians from enjoying such a service surely? How can ''small cities'' that have other pressing priorities sum up their resources and start such a mass transit service while Nairobi cannot just muse the masses with some cheap Chinese 'Nameless Trucks'' to save us from this endless traffic jams? My Tanzanian buddies can't stop laughing at how bright and innovative ideas are born in Nairobi effected in Rwanda and perfected in Dar es Salaam. Come on Mr Kidero! Just do this one thing for us and we will surely forget other promises and vote you back next year."
