News just in is that a police airwing chopper has crashed in Mathare North, Nairobi.

Although we could not  establish why the six-seater police chopper went down by press time,  initial reports indicate that it was recently acquired at a cost of Sh683 million.

The fate of those who were on board the Agusta Westland helicopter is still not known even as other sources speculate that  there were four occupants.

This is the second plane that has gone down today following an earlier accident  in Naivasha.

Occupants of the Naivasha bound plane were going to attend a funeral when the plane crashed at Sanctuary Farm along the Moi South Lake road.

Reports indicate that one person died, one had serious injuries while four others sustained minor injuries.

The victims were rushed to Naivasha District hospital where they are receiving treatment.

A few weeks ago another police chopper crashed at Wilson Airport. An instructor and a trainee who were inside the plane during the accident reportedly got away with minor injuries.

This latest accident involving a police chopper has left many social media users wondering whether the birds are serviced.
