What to make of a former gospel artist opening up about not subscribing to any religion? That is quite the shocker isn't it? Well, that was how I felt as I sat in a monster traffic jam last night and listened to DNG open up about his religious beliefs.

The "Number 1 Hypeman in Africa" cum "rapper" whose songs only get played on the radio station he works at (1 FM) -but who is actually a rather phenomenal businessman was hosted on Capital FM (the mother of my child insists on listening to false accents put on by radio presenters who studied in Kenyan public schools).

Among the mundane nonsense they spoke about, there was a rather interesting topic that was broached and that was the topic of religion. DNG calmly told his hosts Amina and Solo that he does not subscribe to any religious beliefs or teachings;

"I do not believe in any religion, I am spiritual. I am neither Christian nor Muslim but I believe in and love God!"

This statement was made when he was taken to task over his constant dalliance with salvation and the slippery slide back into a hedonistic lifestyle promptly after.

Interesting to see he has joined the list of Kenyan celebrities who do not believe in religion. On this one however, I agree with him
