Not Another Marry Me, Marry You Song!

Y'all guys remember when 'fall in love' song by Nigeria's very own D'banj used to be played almost in every wedding ceremony? Well, those days are no more.

Right now it is no longer about falling in love. It is all about getting married and saying I do; something we can judge from the songs being recorded.

We have no idea why every musician these days is struggling to compose marriage songs.

Is it that the message in these songs sells more au ni kukosa content? Well, either way these songs are amazing and Train, an American rock band set the trend pretty well.

They were actually the first guys to do a song titled Marry me before D'banj, Jason Derulo and many more picked up from there.

Here goes the 'marry me, marry you, I do,' train;

Jason Derulo

He released a song titled 'Marry me' in 2014 dedicated to his then girlfriend Jordin Sparks. That time he was sure she was the one. Unfortunately, it wasn't a match made in heaven and they finally parted ways.

Yemi Alade

Even Mama Africa was not left out of this Marry me train.  She is on board with everyone else and released this Marry me track late last month. The song however is heavily influenced by Spanish beats keeping you on track.

Diamond Platinumz & Ne-Yo

Ok, these ones decided to replace the 'Me' with 'You' but we can't kick them off the list. It is still another marriage song. Quite beautiful, especially the video and the beats.

Willy Paul & Alaine

Yes he did! Willy Pozzee can't be left behind. He made sure he's got to record a wedding song but choose something different...well, to get Alaine on the jam and have the Jamaican beats. Not a bad thing really, but did it have to be another marriage song?

Redsan ft Ervixy

We thought the king of Dancehall in Kenya will be free from this one. Oops! He is actually the latest culprit. The beats sound sort of like chakachaka thing but his Nigerian is on point.

We are waiting for the next victim of these marry marry songs and we'll keep you posted
