The Kenya Sevens Rugby Team is through to the main cup quarter finals of the Wellington IRB series after securing wins over Scotland and Samoa.
This is the first time the national team has booked a place in the last eight during this season’s IRB series.
After making false start in their first game against Argentina, Kenya bounced back in style to secure 19-14 win over Scotland thanks to tries from Billy Odhiambo and Daniel Sikuta.
The third game was a tale of one side as Kenya beat Samoa 28-14 to book a place in the main cup quarters.
Daniel Sikuta was man of moment as he scored two tries while Collins Injera scored his 190th IRB series try and Lavin Asego who also grabbed a try in the game made no mistake as he concerted all the tries.
Attention now shifts to the quarter finals as the national side seeks to redeem their image after series of poor results in the last three legs.
