Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has ordered for the arrest of Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko over graft allegations.
Speaking during a presser Noordin said,
'The investigations by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and upon receiving an independently investigation file I have found enough evidence to warrant prosecution.
I have therefore ordered for the immediate arrest of Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko and other persons.
Adding,
This is in regards to conflict of interest arising from having received moneys from the county of Nairobi while serving as governor.
Unlawful acquisition of public property, money laundering among other economic crimes.'
Noordin added that the investigations have not been easy.
'The investigations into this case have not been easy due to the constant efforts by the accused to obstruct investigations by employing intimidation tactics.
In addition to using goons to threaten officials.'
