Mama Ida Odinga turned 70 years old over the weekend.

Her friend and family threw her a lavish bash at their palatial mansion in Karen.

The party had the who is who on its guest list, however, many noticed that the COVID-19 regulations to prevent the spread of the virus set by the government were not adhered to by the guest as few of the VIPs had on masks.

Some of the guests included Jubilee Party vice-chairman David Murathe, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and Homa Bay Woman Rep Gladys Wanga.

Other guests were EALA member Oburu Oginga, Wajir MP Fatuma Gedi and NGEC commissioner Priscilla Nyokabi.

Anne Waiguru posted a birthday message to Mama Ida,

"Joined Rt. Hon Raila Odinga, family and other leaders in celebrating Mama Ida’s Birthday. Mama Ida Odinga you are Strong, Wise, graceful and selfless. Not many know or understand the critical role you play in this nation. God grant you many more fruitful years ahead, full of laughter and love."

Mama Ida's brother in Love, Oburu Odinga said the event was a private affair.

“It was a private event; we can’t talk more. Unless you talk to her,” Oburu told the Star on the phone.

Raila posted a sweet birthday message for Mama Ida saying,

"Happy Birthday to my wife Ida, a witty and charming source of guidance, inspiration and strength for our family. From the first time, I saw you my life changed immeasurably. We are grateful for your dynamic, adventurous spirit. May the Lord continue to bless your illustrious life!"
