Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko this week came under fire for suggesting that gay men should be burnt because the practice and way of life is immoral.
This is after he posted a video on his official Facebook page of a man in Mombasa who openly declared that he was working as a gay prostitute.

Sonko then captioned the post by condemning the act and suggested that the man, who calls himself Amina, should be lynched.
This caused uproar among some of his followers and now, it looks like some leaders are politicizing it.
I managed to talk to the Senator and get his remarks on this matter. The flamboyant leader is not at all apologetic. He is adamant that he does not and will never support homosexuality.
Although he admitted that he did not personally write the post in question, as there’s a manager who handles his account, he still stood his ground that homosexuality remains illegal in Kenya.

Sonko even quoted the Bible on the matter and threatened to take action himself if he came across a gay man in Nairobi.
