Mariam Kighenda and her daughter will be laid to rest later today in Salama, Makueni county.

Their burial service is underway.

Mariam was married to John Wambua and they were blessed with two children Alvin and Amanda Mutheu.

Her son is yet to come to terms with his loved ones' death. Addressing the media a few days ago, Wambua said,

I BROKE THE NEWS TO MY SON ON FRIDAY AND SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN TOUGH FOR HIM. IT IS A HEALING PROCESS.
