The third suspect in the murder of businesswoman Mary Wambui Kamangara was yesterday arraigned in a Kiambu court and detained for a week so the police can finish investigations.

Michael Mathenge did not take a plea as police need more time to investigate. Senior principal magistrate Stella Atambo granted the application by investigating officer Cornelius Arwasa who sought seven days to complete the probe.

Arwasa told the court that the court orders were earlier granted in a related application and two suspects were remanded until February 13, 2019. CCTV footage showed Mathenge was at Fourways Junction estate when incident happened and that he was in constant communication with another suspect Judy Mungai.
