The Kenyan Gospel industry seems to be on the wrong track of late. Everyday we wake up to fresh scandals. From gospel artistes being accused of being promiscuous to others caught on camera drinking alcohol. We really need a messiah to save the sinking boat.

Barely 24 hours after award winning Gospel singer Bahati released a new song dubbed 'Story Yangu' featuring physically challenged musician Deno of the Mbona fame, Bahati took to social media to tell the world about the atrocious condition the blind artiste (Deno) has been living in despite having made a lot of cash from his song featuring Daddy Owen.

According to Bahati, Deno revealed to him that he had lost hope in his career and was living in abject poverty in one of the city estates. Bahati was touched by Deno's sad story and asked Kenyans to raise funds for Deno so that he could start a business.

This has raised mixed reactions amongst Kenyans who have come out to blame Daddy Owen for Deno's current state of living. Meanwhile, Daddy Owen's elder brother Rufftone has come out to defend him. During a recent media interview, this is what Rufftone had to say;

"Bwana Asifiwe. I have seen that Bahatis article on Deno and I think it is sad. Personally I know many could be pointing fingers at Daddy Owen secretly in their hearts but I am a witnesses to Daddy Owen starting a business for Denno. You all remember Daddy Owen giving Denno one million shillings. So many things could have happened but I think new financial systems and investment programmes should be introduced for artists empowerment"

On the other hand, daddy Owen has, maintained silence and the only comment he has made so far is;

"Bwana ndiye mtetezi wangu. . Yeye ndiye atakaye nipigania. .."
