Two people died on Friday, January 13, 2017, after two cars heading towards the same direction were involved in an accident along the Lang’ata Road near the Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi.

Five other passengers were injured in the accident in which one of the two vehicles had eight occupants.

The driver lost control before hitting another vehicle from behind before rolling into a ditch.

According to the Nairobi Traffic Commandant Leonard Katana, both vehicles were moving on same direction when the accident happened at around 5 am.

“The accident occurred early this morning and the surprising thing is that there was no traffic when it happened. The driver must have been speeding,” he said.

The latest deaths brings to five, the total number of those killed in accidents in Nairobi since Thursday night.

Two people were killed in Kayole and one along Eastern Bypass.
