Ortum Boys High school students were left in panic after a section of the school caught fire.

The school is in West Pokot.

Videos circulating online show students, dressed in black trousers and grey sweaters, fleeing from the dense smoke billowing out from their dormitories. 

The blaze, which started around 9:00am, quickly engulfed one of the main dormitories and spread to others.

A full investigation is underway to establish what caused the fire.

 The fire comes hours after Isiolo Girls High school dormitory caught fire.

A recent fire at Hillside Endarasha Academy claimed 21 lives, more than 50 students are still unaccounted for.

Over the weekend a fire burned down a section of Njia Boys High School.

It is not clear what the causes of the fires are.
