Kenyan businessman and political strategist Jimi Wanjigi has urged Kenyan men to marry Kamba women. Wanjigi, who is married to Irene Nzisa from Tala, praised his wife for her strength during a recent public event.

He recounted how she protected him when the police were searching for him, saying, "You never know the strength of a woman until you see her in action, like a tea bag revealing its strength when immersed in hot water."

He continued, "The police were looking for me as if I were a terrorist. Do I look like one? That’s when I truly saw her strength—she stood by the family, never showing fear or crying. If you want to know who really knows every corner of the house, ask the wife. She saved me."

Wanjigi also commended the people of Ukambani for raising his wife, encouraging others to seek out partners from the region, "If you want a wife who will stand by you, come to Ukambani."

Wanjigi explained that the police raided his Nairobi home because of his involvement in the Nane Nane protests.

Speaking from his home in Muthaiga, he described how his brief appearance on the streets was met with a heavy police response. "We were there for barely five minutes before being teargassed. We were chased from town and this home has been under siege since then," he said.

He accused the police of committing abuses in their search for him, adding, "Stop looking for me in my house; you will never find me. Seven years ago, they searched this house and could not find me. Even now, if you search here, you won’t find me. Please don’t waste your time."

Wanjigi suggested that the police should issue formal summons if they need him for questioning. "If you want me, just send a summons and I will appear where you want. Stop searching my house—you will never find me. We are not fools; we were not born yesterday," he concluded.
