Dadaab Member of Parliament Farah Maalim has denied allegations that he advocated for the "slaughtering of Gen Z" during the anti-tax protests.

The MP, who has been under fire, dismissed claims that he called for the butchering of the youth, stating that such sentiments do not reflect his position.

"I never called for the death of any Kenyans. I didn’t and I will never call for it," he said in a video on his X page.

Maalim emphasized that he is a leader of integrity and would not compromise the reputation he has carefully built over many years.

"I have been an honest person for over 30 years in the politics of this country. I have a track record that is matched by very few people," he said.

Maalim asserted that he would always act according to his conscience for the best interest of the country.

"I entered politics as an opposition MP in 1992 through Ford Kenya when everyone else in the region was in KANU. I stuck by my principles and my philosophy, and that has never changed," Maalim said.

Maalim maintains he remains popular among his constituents.

"When it comes to votes, I will go back to my constituency. Everybody knows my popularity on the ground. You don’t have someone who has been here for 30 years who gets elected again now. But I am here and I will come back until I decide to retire," Maalim said.

This statement comes after a viral video allegedly showed him saying that if he were President, he would have slaughtered 5,000 Gen Z members daily, referencing the day irate youth breached Parliament Buildings.

"God forbid, if I were the President, which God hasn’t given me, I would have slaughtered them, 5,000 of them daily, seriously," the MP is accused of saying.

However, Maalim stated that the video was edited and does not represent his true position.
