Denzel Omondi Onyango, a JKUAT student who was found dead, has been mourned by his peers and the architectural community.

The 23-year-old went missing on June 27, leading to claims of abduction after his family questioned his disappearance.

Denzel's body was discovered at a quarry in Gachororo, Juja, Kiambu County. He was one of thousands of protesters who stormed the Parliament premises and shared a video as a group heading to the building.

The Architectural Society of Kenya expressed their condolences to his family, stating:

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our student member Denzel Onyango Omondi, Member No 54003 of the Quantity Surveyors Chapter.

We mourn the loss of this promising young professional and stand in solidarity with his family in their quest for justice. May Denzel's family find strength and comfort, and may justice be served swiftly and fairly."

A postmortem on Wednesday, July 10, revealed that Denzel died by drowning. The third-year student was celebrated by his fellow students, who called it an unprecedented loss of one of their vibrant comrades.

"We will rise up to honor this legend," they said. While calling for justice, students gathered to see his body and assembled for prayers and other activities in his memory.
