Reject Finance Bill has become one of the biggest trends in Kenya with nearly 1.4 million posts on X.
Most Kenyans have taken to the streets of Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret and Thika to protest againt the finance bill.
Kenyans on X have shared their thoughts on the bill, asking their members of parliament to reject it and not amend it.
The hashtag has also trended in other countries outside of Kenya including France, The US, Netherlands, Germany, Qatar, Canada, UK, Australia.
Other hashtags trending are Occupy Parliament.
Kenyans have also be wowed by Generation Z who have come out in large numbers to oppose the bill.
On Tuesday, Kenya Kwanza backed down on taxation measures including 16 per cent VAT on bread, following a public uproar.
The Finance Bill, 2024 should be passed before July 1, the beginning of the 2024/25 budget cycle.
