The makeshift casket carrying the remains of the late Chief of Defense Forces Gen Francis Ogolla cost Sh6,800.

The late military leader in his last will, had requested to be buried without a coffin.

"My father is lying inside a makeshift casket costing sh6,800. Tomorrow we shall extract him from that casket wrap him in sheets and lay him in the grave for burial, just like the man he admired most; Jesus Christ, was buried, in the grave for burial," said Joel Omondi.

His essence and spirit is no longer with us. this is a body which he served the country with and now it is finished," he said of his humble dad.

Social media is heavily discussing the burial demands that the late Ogolla has left behind. Many are comparing it to the lavish ceremonies that other dead leaders are bestowed with.

Joel also addressed Kenyans asking about his burial demands

"Let me also address social media asking if he is Muslim, what he wants to be buried with, and what's happening.

Your Excellency as you know Jesus himself how he was buried. He was wrapped in a sheet and put in a tomb. Right now mzee is wearing the uniform he donned for number of functions, but tomorrow will be wrapped in the sheets.

We will extract him from the casket and lay him in the ground so that he can return to dust as quickly as possible just the way he wanted it. Just following the man he admired the most, Jesus Christ," he explained.
