The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced a traffic disruption on James Gichuru Road starting this Wednesday.

According to KURA, the disruption will occur during nighttime from Thursday to Sunday to facilitate road improvement works by the contractor.

Motorists using this route are advised to seek alternative routes, especially during evening hours, to avoid congestion in the city.

"We urge motorists on this route to exercise caution as we strive to enhance urban mobility," KURA stated on X.

James Gichuru Road, situated in the Lavington area and linking with Waiyaki Way at the ABC Roundabout in Nairobi, serves as a vital access point to the Westlands Area.

"We hereby inform the public of traffic disruptions along James Gichuru Road from March 14th to 17th, 2024 (during nighttime) to facilitate road improvement works by the contractor," read the notice posted on KURA's X platform.

KURA emphasized their commitment to enhancing infrastructure networks across all 47 counties, with the James Gichuru Road project being just one among many.

As part of the broader infrastructure improvement agenda, Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen inspected the ongoing road upgrades in Bomet County yesterday.

He stated that this initiative aligns with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, aimed at enhancing the urban road network to support agricultural development, trade, health, and related services.

Murkomen further disclosed that the government has allocated Sh150 million to support road upgrades in Bomet County.
