Charles Kipsang dies during marathon in Cameroon

Kenyan athlete Charles Kipsang dies at Cameroon mountain race; Cameroonian media reports he collapsed shortly after crossing the finish line, efforts to resuscitate him were futile.

Kipsang who was participating in the Senior Men’s Category in the Mount Cameroon Race, finished in 16th position.

He was immediately taken to the nearby hospital, Buea Regional Hospital, but unfortunately failed to save the life of the 32-year-old Kenyan athlete. 

His death comes just hours after the burial of marathoner Kevin Kiptum.

The 24-year-old athlete died on 11th February in a grisly road accident together with his coach Gervais Hakizimana near Kaptagat Forest.
