A Kericho man died after trying to intervene in a love triangle involving his mother-in-law, her man, and his other lover.
The man was stabbed to death in the Kaplemeiwet area of Kipkoiyan, in Kericho county Thursday, Feb 9.
The accounts from eyewitnesses say that the Kericho man was stabbed to death as the mother-in-law was fighting her love rival.
The dead man lived in the same residential plot with his in-laws and heard the commotion prompting him to find out what was happening.
When he got to the scene, he found the women in a confrontation, as the two women physically engaged each other.
The love rival also lives in the same plot. neighbors allege the love triangle was known and things degenerated leading to a quarrel and a physical fight.
While the man was trying to separate the two women, sadly the other woman took a kitchen knife and the eyewitnesses said he was unfortunately stabbed in the process as she tried to stab his mother-in-law.
The knife pierced through the man's neck, killing him instantly.
The eyewitnesses told the press that while they waited for an emergency vehicle to ferry him to a medical facility, the man sadly died.The love rival disappeared in that commotion.
His body was taken to the Kericho Referral Hospital by police.
