The dramatic and eventual arrest of an MCA from Machakos went viral on social media, with Kenyans commenting on how roughly the politician was treated.

Inspectorate askaris dragged and pulled at Kalama Ward MCA Hon. Boniface Musyimi Maeke, who sat crying during the incident. Boniface screamed, accusing them of trying to break his leg.

In a video, he is seen with his right leg on the wheel of a county vehicle, pointing at a man in the commotion, repeatedly shouting, "wamenivunja miguu" (they have broken my legs).

According to The Machakos Star, Maeke had gone to accompany his colleague Massi Ward MCA Douglas Musyoka, who was arrested on Wednesday, January 31, over alleged failure to produce documents approving the construction of his residential house in Machakos town.

Boniface was pushed out of the court where he was forcefully arrested and whisked away by over six men but resisted entering the county vehicles.

In a video on SPM Buzz, the MCA is seen lying on the ground as a man pulls off his trousers, exposing the politician.

Other men protest heavily, condemning the askari for humiliating the Kalama Ward MCA. Chants of "Hii ni aibu hii, unafanya hivi kwa nini" (This is shameful, why are you doing this) can be heard from multiple men.

The council askari walks away, looking back at the bewildered MCA, in a chaotic scene.
