The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examination results for the final cohort were released by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu on Thursday.

The Teachers Service Commission CEO Nancy Macharia, PS Belio Kipsang, and other education stakeholders were present when the CS announced the results at the Mitihani home.

8,525 candidates received a total score of 400 or above in the results.

According to the CS, this equals 0.60%.

352,782 people, or 24.29 percent, fell into the category with marks between 300 and 399.

Additionally, according to Machogu, 658,278 candidates received scores between 200 and 299; he pointed out that this is a low number of candidates compared to 2022.

The 658,278 make up 48.49%.

Furthermore, 383,025 individuals, or 27.05%, received grades ranging from 100 to 199.

2,060 applicants receive grades ranging from 001 to 099.

"A total of 8,523 candidates attained a total of 400 marks and above, which is a drop from 9,443 from the 2022 KCPE exams."

In all, 1,406,557 people took the KCPE exams in 2023.

Candidates, their parents, and guardians can view the results via the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) website, SMS platforms, county education offices, and their individual schools, according to the CS.

To get the results for the SMS option, candidates must text their index number to 40054, followed by the initials KCPE (in capital letters).

"Parents and candidates can get their KCPE results by sending the' results by sending their index number to code 40054. The SMS will be charged at Sh25."

All mobile networks can use the SMS platform, and each message will cost Sh25.

In contrast to 2022, when the council registered 1.2 million candidates, this year there were 1.4 million.

Additionally, as the government seeks to phase out the 8-4-4 curriculum, this is the last year applicants will take the KCPE exams.
