A 13-year-old boy died after he fell while playing with his mates in Huruma, Nairobi.
The boy sustained a deep cut on the head and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.
His parents were not home when the incident happened on Monday morning.
They told police they received a call from their neighbour informing them their son had been injured and taken to hospital.
He died while being attended to at the hospital. Police said they are waiting for an autopsy report to establish how the boy died.
In Makongeni, Nairobi, a man was arrested after his four-year-old died following a beating.
The body of the minor had bruises on the face, back, buttocks, and legs.
Neighbours said they had seen the man beat up the girl after a brief shout over unknown issues in the house.
The girl fell and lost consciousness before the man rushed her to Jericho Health Center where doctors confirmed she was dead.
Her mother was called to the scene and identified the girl as her daughter.
It was then the father was arrested and taken to custody pending autopsy and investigations.
Police said they intend to charge him in court with among others manslaughter.
Nairobi police commander Adamson Bungei termed the incident tragic and vowed to establish the cause.
Such cases of deaths out of domestic beatings have been on the rise amid calls on parents and guardians to be cautious about how they handle them.
In Nyahururu, Nyandarua, a 25-year-old man died after being assaulted by a cousin in an altercation.
The deceased was assaulted in the head in an argument at their home and rushed to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment on Sunday night.
Police said the suspected assailant is at large and efforts to trace him are ongoing.
It is not clear what the two were arguing over but police said they are investigating the incident.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.
According to police, they are investigating murder in the issue.
