Nairobi is now the temporary home to King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Just before 11 p.m. on Monday, the Royal Air Force, transporting the King and the Queen, landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Arrival ahead of the official start of a four-day state visit to Kenya on Tuesday, October 31.

The purpose of the visit is to commemorate the cordial ties and solid, ongoing partnership that the two nations continue to build.

The counties of Nairobi City, Mombasa, and the surrounding districts will be visited by the King and Queen.

During their programme, they will discuss how Kenya and the UK are collaborating to address climate change, increase young employment and opportunity, foster sustainable development, and build a more stable and secure future.

President Ruto and the First Lady, as well as other Kenyan government officials, UN employees, CEOs, religious leaders, youth, aspiring leaders, and Kenyan Marines undergoing training alongside UK Royal Marines, will all be met by the King and Queen during their visit.

Along with Wangari's daughter Wanjira Mathai, the King will also be present at an event honouring the life and contributions of the late Professor Wangari Maathai, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

The tour will pay tribute to the more traumatic facets of Kenya's and the UK's shared past, including as the Emergency (1952–1960).

Throughout his tour, the King will take the time to better comprehend the injustices that the Kenyan people have endured over this time.

The King and Queen will visit the site of Kenya's 1963 independence declaration, lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior in Uhuru Gardens, and take a group tour of a recently opened museum devoted to the country's past.
