Police in Kitengela are investigating the death of a 59-year-old man who died after visiting his alleged 23-year-old girlfriend.
According to a police report, the two have been together for three years.
"Today, her boyfriend aged 59 years came to visit her at a rental house. The girlfriend prepared meat stew and ugali which they took for lunch," the police report said.
"After taking lunch, the deceased requested that they proceed to the bedroom. Around 4 pm the man suddenly lost consciousness, prompting the woman to lay him beside her."
The police report said the woman then reported the incident to the Kitengela police station.
The woman subsequently contacted one of the deceased's friends for assistance.
According to the police report, he was taken to hospital, where he was announced dead upon arrival.
Police said that no exhibits were recovered from the scene.
"Kitengela Police Station OCS, his team and the DCI officers rushed to the scene but did not find any exhibits," the police report said.
"The woman who is now the primary suspect, has been placed in custody for further inquiry into the matter."
The deceased's body has been preserved at Kitengela Sub County Hospital Mortuary, awaiting an autopsy.
