Token prepaid vending systems will be shut down for maintenance, according to Kenya Power.
The company stated in a statement on Saturday that the planned repair will prevent consumers from purchasing tokens using their prepaid Paybill number or Airtel Money.
From September 9 from 11:50 p.m. through September 10 at 5:00 a.m., the maintenance will be performed.
"Our prepaid vending system will be temporarily unavailable due to essential maintenance from Saturday, September 9th, 2023, at 11:50 PM to Sunday, September 10th, 2023, at 5:00 AM," reads the notice.
"During this time, customers will not be able to purchase electricity tokens via prepaid Paybill number 888880 or Airtel Money.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers."
